Why We Created The Property Drive

The Property Drive was born from years of conversations.

Conversations in the car on long drives. Conversations over dinner with friends. Conversations after family gatherings. Conversations with colleagues who would quietly ask, "How did you do it?"

For nearly seventeen years, property has been a constant thread running through our lives.

When we met at 19 and 21, we didn't have grand plans of building a large portfolio. We simply wanted to own our own home and create a secure future. Like many young couples, money was tight. Every mortgage repayment mattered. There were plenty of moments where we questioned whether we were making the right decisions.

But one property became two. Then another opportunity appeared. We learnt to renovate. We discovered subdivision. We experienced the highs of strong markets and the uncertainty of slower ones. Over time, our strategy evolved alongside our lives.

Today, property is still something we genuinely enjoy talking about. Not because it's about houses or numbers, but because every property represents a decision, a lesson, and another chapter in our family's story.

People often assume there must have been one secret or one life-changing investment, or financial help from family.

There wasn't.

Instead, there were hundreds of ordinary decisions made consistently over many years.

There were sacrifices that didn't always feel glamorous. We spent much of our twenties focusing on financial foundations while many of our friends were travelling, out enjoying being social or upgrading lifestyles. We delayed starting our family until we felt we had built enough stability to do so with confidence.

Looking back, we wouldn't say our journey has been perfect. We've made mistakes, changed strategies, and learnt lessons that only experience can teach.

That's exactly why The Property Drive exists.

This isn't a place to promise shortcuts or guaranteed success. It isn't about telling you what you should do with your money. Every person's circumstances are different, and every investment decision should be made with appropriate professional advice.

Instead, this is simply a place where we're documenting our own journey.

We'll share the conversations we've had, the strategies we've tried, the mistakes we've made, and the principles that have guided us through nearly two decades of investing.

Our hope is that somewhere within these stories, you'll find ideas, encouragement, or perhaps simply the reassurance that building wealth rarely happens overnight.
